Dishcloths!  Facecloths!  Clothcloths!

I make these at night while I'm watching tv. . . easy. . . mindless. . . useful!  I made one for a friend of mine, and she asked me to write it down.

I'm an awful crochet author type, so if you have any problems, just let me know so I can make it more clear.

Here goes!

JittCloth

You'll need:
  • Approx 2oz worsted weight 100% cotton yarn
  • 8" x 8" cloth
  • H or I hook
  • Scissors, tapestry needle to weave in ends
Stitches used (US Terms)
  • Chain (Ch)
  • Single Crochet (SC)
  • Treble Crochet (TRC)
Level:  Beginner

Tips:
  • Ch1 counts as first SC
  • The SC before and after each TRC should be fairly tight
  • TRCs are worked on the WRONG side of the cloth.
  • Be sure to make the final SC in each row in the turning Ch1 from previous row for a nice, straight edge
Instructions:
  1. Chain 26
  2. SC in second stitch from hook, then SC across.  Ch1, Turn
    (25 sc)
  3. Skip first ST, *TRC in second ST, SC*.  Repeat across, ending in SC.  Ch1, Turn
    (12 TRC, 13 SC)
  4. Skip first ST, SC across, CH1, turn
    (25 SC)
  5. Repeat rows 3 and 4 until desired length is reached.
    (12 repeats of rows 3 & 4 makes a square cloth)
  6. End with Row 4, all SC.  FO

And there you have it!  The TRC's will pop out, making a nice textured cloth for scrubbing!
